My choice.

So it’s summer. Mid-summer that is.

It is a two-month long break from school, but it does not mean that it is a break from life problems too.

Life has been throwing a lot of sh*t at me lately, but I have to deal with it with my head held high and a smile on my face. Yes people, I’ll shall deal with my problems with a smile on my face. How can that be possible if I am just a human, vulnerable to my ever-changing emotions. I thought summer break will be a time to be happy, stress-free, and alive, since you do not have to worry anything about school and all that comes with it.

So, one night, I was about to sleep when I tried to recollect my thoughts, and then it hit me that I can’t be happy if I choose not to be happy. (DUH!) πŸ˜› Silly as it seems, but yes, I have to choose happiness rather than focus on negative thoughts. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anxiety disorder or emotional problems, it’s just sometimes you have to face difficulties and you should be ready for it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is tiring, but you have to. All those frustrations, pains, problems, and tests come and go through your life every now and then. You cannot expect them to have a certain and definite schedule, they’ll just go in to your life and crush you as hell. But, it is up to you on how you’ll be able pick yourself up again and go on with your life. But if you choose to be happy, no matter how hard the situation is, you’ll manage to get through it. Problems will never break you, frustrations will never break your spirit, and pain will never break your heart. Surely, it will just leave a big or small dent, but trust it will never break you. πŸ™‚

So now, I focus more on reading books and blogging. (Don’t be surprised if I’ll be making a few book review every now and then) πŸ˜› I’ve been reading a lot of thriller/suspense books lately. It keeps me calm and steady. Plus, blogging is my usual time-killer. So rather than thinking of negative things, I have books to keep me calm and steady, and I have my blog to keep me occupied.

OH btw, you may have (not) noticed that I changed my domain form so-fabulous.info to sofabulous.info, a little booboo happened that’s why I have to buy a new domain. And now, I’m back to PR 0. I NEED to raise my PR. HEEEEELP! πŸ˜› Any suggestions? πŸ™‚ PLEASE? πŸ˜€

And another thing, I’m thinking of another giveaway, and I’m thinking of giving away make-up products. What do you think? πŸ˜› I’m open for suggestions. πŸ™‚ I’m looking for sponsors too! Please? πŸ˜€ (You can contact me at luvlygaljen06@yahoo.com)

  4. “I can’t be happy if I choose not to be happy.”

That is so true! But sometimes, it is really hard to feel happy even though you’re going through hell. It’s like a person’s automatic reaction when dealing with problems. But then again, I also believe that if a person has a positive outlook in life then he/she will attract positive vibes as well πŸ™‚

Good luck on the giveaway! I have hosted 2 giveaways and can I just say that it’s hard!! There are just some contestants that don’t follow the rules πŸ™ And then I feel bad for them. I hope you won’t have the same experience πŸ™‚

  5. We’re actually always happy, it’s just the almost all of the time, negativity is much stronger than our positive side. It takes time to realize that being happy and pushing aside bad thoughts would definitely help us. Right now, I’m in that state, and I’m actually just trying to think of things, like writing and blogging, which makes me happy. :))) And I did notice you’ve been reading quite a lot of books lately (from twitter) πŸ˜€

  6. i think most of us get to calm down by reading books. i myself love reading. and yes, be happy! we all should be no matter what problem we face.

  7. we have the same reason why we love blogging and reading πŸ™‚ i love how you take evrything easy and smile inspite of all the negative things that are happening πŸ™‚ keep it up <3 and good luck with the nxt giveaway! πŸ™‚

  8. Smile is very powerful. You could turn a frown just by seeing someone smile. It also takes bad vibes away. So whatever it is that you are facing, just smile, pray, and everything will be fine soon. πŸ™‚

  9. “I can’t be happy if I choose not to be happy” — I agree! don’t think too much. It’ll stress you. Ooh, you’re a bookworm πŸ™‚

  10. That’s so true. Happiness is a choice. And life’s a bitch. It will always be. The best thing we can do is to find happiness in the smallest things. And borrow courage from people close to you.

  11. I have just came through from a problem too (family problem that is), and it was a light feeling bringing that up to them and finally fixing the problem. Summer indeed doesn’t cover escaping life problems like it does in school problems.

    Good luck on the giveaway!!

  12. That’s right! I read this in a book or movie somewhere that it’s all about perspective. I think it was Mika’s song or something. And you know about the book The Secret? Well it states the Law of Attraction and if you feel positive, positive things will certainly come to you. Glad you’re reading more books and blogging more! Am also reading a lot and can’t wait to share my findings! πŸ˜€ hahahaa Actually I have written them all in Goodreads. πŸ˜€ It’s also in my site πŸ˜€ Do review some!

  13. I have a quote that I just fell in love with recently because it reminds me of just being happy and doing all you can for yourself

“Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart” – Confucius

Hope that helps you in some way because it’s been helping me. I am even planning on getting it as a tattoo as a constant reminder for myself πŸ™‚

I’ve been trying to read a lot more too but it’s hard because I only had a week break from school and now I’m back to school inn 2 days so I have to take a break from reading yet AGAIN. I still haven’t finished reading my hunger games yet! Sigh.

A giveaway would be awesome! I love makeup! I will definitely keep coming back to check that out!!!

  14. We have the same sentiments. Blogging has been my way to forget my predicaments for a while and yes by reading some self-help books too. πŸ™‚

  15. I 100% agree with this! You have to make the choice to be happy first. I learned this a year or so ago and it has honestly changed the way I think about things.

I would love to see some book reviews on here. I’m always looking for new books to read!

  16. We should always be optimistic! Smile and choose to be happy. Prevent yourself from frowning because it will not only make your skin have wrinkles but it would make your life more miserable than it should be! I blog to release stress. It makes me feel good to blog. :))

As for the giveaway, I’m interested. Do send me a message regarding the details. πŸ™‚

  17. I also think that most people can choose happiness. Those who are clinically depressed are of course exceptions since that’s more chemical than anything.

But most people, can choose to be happy. For me the trick is not to compare myself to people who are better off than me. If I started comparing myself with rich people in big fancy houses I’d feel like a failure. Instead I think of a how blessed I am to be loved by so many, how cute my apartment is, how much I love being an artist etc. And most of all I think about how I have a home, food on the table and a stable income because that’s more than millions of people in the world have. When I think of that, all my other problems, everything I want to change, feels like silly and small problems.
